Finding new routes for success hasn't always been easy, but can help inspire innovation. And this is what I hoped to share with Sydenham High School for Girls when I was invited in to share my astory two weeks ago. Thank to the school for hosting my lecture for their Socrates programme.

Earlier this month I was invited to Marshland High School in Wisbech as a speaker and award issuer. Congratulating the GCSE recipients with their certificates and awards for achievement. Joined on stage by the Mayor and Mayoress of Kings Lynn, the event was full of pride and high achievement. However, not all students will achieve the grades they or their parents desire, but this in no means stops them from paving their own way towards success.
Thank you for the beautiful bouquet of flowers!

Helping to motivate and inspire the next generation has always been at the helm of Milly J Shoes. Receiving an invite from an outstanding school, Thorpe St Andrew in Norwich was a delight to accept. I was asked to give a talk and workshop with a series of textiles groups, as textiles has been removed from the curriculum. This was an opportunity to try to reinvigorate this subject within the students. We found ways to evealuate ways in which to design for clients with the students been receptive and creative.
Look out for future collaborations between Milly J Shoes and Thorpe St Andrew.

I recently had a very inspiring meeting with one of the top schools in the area, Norwich School. An imdependent school with fantastic resources. I enjoy working with the emerging generations to find new routes to creativity and career paths. Meeting with the head of faculties and art department., I am excited to say that they are keen for me to implement a series of footwear projects with them. They loved the fact that we have such a rich footwear heritage here and that Milly J Shoes is based opposite the school, making it very convenient.

I am committed to trying to help the next generation find their own, unique sense of self. Doing this by creating mini projects, working on their confidence skills through speech, language, music and drama to instilling the importance of creativity.
I mentor at North Walsham High school and I organised for my group of 13 year olds to visit the East Anglia Air Ambulance. Taking them away from their phones and ipads and seeing what else lay in this world beyond social media and texting! On my day off, some of my mentees and I visited their base and were greeted by the paramedics, doctors, pilots and of course the CEO, Patrick Peal.
The stories were inspiring and they certainly managed to get through to my group. I am excited to take another lot of mentees to the base in the future.

I was joined by Chris Lee of the RAF who gave a funny account of his military life.

As part of my commitment to society and the community , I am often asked to attend talks, seminars, schools and institutions to share my story. A surviving against the odds story that encourages the community and especially the youth to find other routes within their lives through the power of creativity, the arts, entrepreneurship and STEM.
So it was a true honour to have been chosen by North Walsham High School to be a part of their mentoring scheme several months ago with a minimum two year commitment. As an ongoing commitment, I have of course many things in store for my very inspirational students.

I was once again very kindly invited to inspire through my own personal story and as to how I ended up in the footwear Industry. Joined by other individuals from various professions, from a high ranked police officer, to solicitors and museum curators. The day was constructed through a series of small grouped talks, inspiring pupils at Sheringham school to think of what other alternatives there are to the usual careers out there today.
My area of expertise was creativity, the arts and designs.

I am always very open to helping schools with their creativity initiatives and on this occasion, I was invited back by St Francis' School as a judge for their fashion show.
Miss Tabitha Wilson, the head of art is a truly forward thinking and energetic teacher who works incredibly hard to push students to achieve unusual works. The art students proved that they they had boundless amounts of innovative thinking and collaborative skill in creating spme remarkable works from recycled materials.
