About Milly J Shoes

Emily Jupp is a fellow of The Royal Society of the Arts and has won many an award for her work, including the Footwear Designer of the Year awarded to her by Clark’s and The British Footwear Association. Among her awards, she is also the Prime Minister endorsed, Outstanding Woman in the Creative Industries.

Milly J Shoes started from Milly’s kitchen table in 2011, following the sad passing of her gifted, artist brother and was conceptualised in his memory. Her international background and unusual life story and multiple artistic endeavours bring something truly unique.

Milly was one of the first (at least In the UK) to create one-off, ‘strikingly unconventional’ hand crafted shoes with flair, followed by art to wear shoes and have been showcased by many a well-known museum, including The British Library and many a well-known personality. 

Milly’s shoes are all hand crafted and designed by herself. However, she relishes creating shoes in a collaborative  format.
shoes are not only art pieces, but most can be worn for special occasions, events and everyday wear with many a theme.
The shop - Milly J Shoes closed its doors in 2023 when Milly realised the online retail landscape was growing faster than the high street.

in terms of innovation, Milly has also revitalised the staid, 80’s shoe clip meaning most shoes can be ‘pimped-up‘ with a Milly J Shoes’s shoe clip. Including the hand sculpted ravioli shoe clips for the pasta lover, to the Rasta clips for the reggae enthusiast.
Milly has been a go-getter, especially motivated by ensuring her brother’s fire is kept alive through her own paths. She likes to ensure that her gentle push within the arts is given back into the community. She uses her skills to mentor artistically gifted students not only in the Norfolk area, but further afield as well. She is also a speaker for schools and organisations.
Her creativity is fluid and she likes to balance her opera singing, acting, design and business acumen are in a creative force.
